While I have respect and rev’rence
For our ancient Constitution
The problem that we’re facing
Needs a radical solution

For the system it created
Is what put us in this pickle
And the parchment that it’s printed on
Ain’t worth a wooden nickel

As you’d understand by now
If you’ve tuned to these debates
Our country’s at the mercy
Of the ittty, bitty states

Deplorables are living in
The lands both lost and hinter
And the way that they’ve been voting
Could create a global winter

It’s so sad to see Elizabeth
And Bernie going postal
That the central states have power
In proportion to the coastal

Yes, we’d have a new utopia
And love would flow like nectar
If we only did away with
Each and every state elector

Their plan might have some merit
But would have a lot more reach
With a sober demonstration
That they practice what they preach

Why caucus out in Iowa?
Let them chase after their porkers
Why should people in New Hampshire
Have more say than rich New Yorkers?

You have brought me to agreement
And I couldn’t be more emphatic
The way we pick our candidates
Is just un-Democratic

To the DNC directives
I propose this one addendum
Skip the primary confusion
Just go hold a referendum
