DOGE Me

This week has seen a moment

As sad as it’s inspiring

From governmental service

Elon Musk’s retiring

And from his weeks of labor

And days of dedication

And all that he’s accomplished

I’ve taken inspiration

So early Wednesday evening

I sat down with my wife

Did a little digging

And began to DOGE my life

I knew that’d I’d been wasteful

But I didn’t know how bad

There’s seventeen subscriptions

That I didn’t know I had

Every bill and balance

Was like stepping on a land mine

I fainted when I found out

We’re still paying for a land line

Several streaming services

Were excised from my panel

(Please believe me darling..

I’ve NEVER watched that channel)

Have you ever unsubscribed?

It’s tough to do, I’m told

I called up Thursday morning

And I’m still on hold

We switched to fiber optic

Boy that’s really hot

They gave us both a gift card

Which we’ll forget we got

There’s you have it, listeners

A little taste of hell

And next week, if I get the nerve

I’ll cancel AOL

Commission a poem from Joe

Tell him the story. He'll find the verse in it.
