What always has amazed me
Is the nature of confusions
That folks can look at simple facts
And reach diverse conclusions

I believe that Armstrong landed
And my trust is even stronger
That no spaceship crashed in Roswell
And that Elvis is no longer

Entertaining fantasies
Is really self-defeating
And the Dems, just like Bill Belichick
Would never think of cheating

But in this current moment
I don’t know where faith resides
For people I respect come down
On very different sides

They say that Rudy’s lost a step
So what would you expect
But you really must admit
So has the president elect

I’ve heard the host’s opinions
And they really were instructive
Proof requires evidence
And cannot be deductive

And though I do not claim to be
A Sherlock or a Poirot
I hope some non-deductive stuff
Will turn up by tomorrow

I’ve hired a sketchy British spy
To write a dossier
I find the best investigations
Tend to start that way

He’ll make a dozen phone calls
Which he’ll leak and then announce
And then, before you know it
The media will pounce

Alas, in love and politics
It’s always tit for tat
Is this the hill to die on?
Let’s hope it won’t come to that.
