They say the worst is over

And consumer prices dipped

Thanks to all their spending

We have got inflation whipped

The Beltway Boys are cheering

Yes, they’re really getting rowdy

But I think I have to tell them

That their crystal ball is cloudy

They say it doesn’t matter

The direction things are going

As long as you appreciate

The rate of rise is slowing

They promise higher spending

Will improve things two more pegs

If you want to make an omelet

Then we’ll have to break more eggs

You know they’re talking nonsense

It’s time that we ignored them

Of course, I’d like to break some eggs

It’s just, I can’t afford them

I can’t go to the Dollar Store

The way I did before

As nothing I can buy there

Costs a dollar anymore

Costco had a special

On some halibut and bass

I wanted to drive over

But I couldn’t afford the gas

I don’t know a soul

Who likes the way that we’ve been taken

Have you seen the price of housing?

Have you seen the price of bacon?

I’m just a lowly poet

You don’t want to hear from me

But even lowly poets know

That energy is key

If on Green New Deal Solutions

Bidenomic hopes are pinned

They don’t care about inflation

They’re just spitting in the wind
