I doubt the world has ever seen
A place so fair, a land so green
A people with more wholesome hearts
Who till the earth and love the arts

And I defy you not to smile
When you behold the Emerald Isle

Perhaps this notion may seem quaint
But I believe their patron Saint
Accomplished this for all our sakes
When he drove out the island’s snakes

That’s just a legend some may say
There were no snakes there anyway
But look beyond and lift the lid
On what Saint Patrick really did

But bringing God’s great message in
He drove out villainy and sin

And so, it’s fitting that next week
(You know the snake of whom I speak)
By citizens who claim their clout
Will by recall be driven out

It may take time till he’s departed
But, begorah, we got things started
And like when Pat declared “Go thither”
It takes a while for snakes to slither

And to that Saint we’ll be beholden
When our state once again is golden

We’ll do, out West the things it takes
Then get to work on East coast snakes.
