I had an idea for a rhyme

But then I had to leave it

I couldn’t concoct a lie so big

The Left would not believe it

I said, “The Border’s Solid”

And I said, “I feel your pain.”

And then I sang a tune about

The Fire and the Rain

I said that crime was easing

And markets all were stable

That prices were secure

And wouldn’t touch your kitchen table

And then I told the big one

I was sure would make a mess

I said, “I’m raising taxes

But you’ll all be paying less.”

I showed them with a budget

(Now this is really funny)

I said that I fixed homelessness

Cause I spent all the money

I had them buy electric cars

(It’s easy if you try)

Then said you couldn’t charge them

And they didn’t bat an eye

I harvested their data

And I did it in a hurry

I leaked it to the press

But then I told them not to worry

I lionized restrictions

And regulations, lauded

You would have been amazed

The way they smiled and applauded

Poetry is cutthroat

Politics is sleazier

But running as a Lefty

Is really so much easier
