Some friends we meet at school or work
Or where we go to pray
They fill our lives with comfort
And they brighten every day

But lately, in the modern world
We message them and tweet them
Forming lasting friendships
Before we ever meet them

We seek a common interest
We share a common will
We love and honor freedom
And that’s how we met Jill

As fans of the Hugh Hewitt Show
And Aftershows with Duane
The Sherriff of the Tribbles
Who kept our comments sane

Then what anticipation
And what more fitting place
Than Tribblefest at Disneyland
When we met face to face

And when we found she couldn’t fly
And didn’t want any fuss
We moved the Fest to Phoenix
So that she could be with us

But mostly in those chatrooms
Where she would type and text
Moderating madness
Deciding who goes next

In calming down the Tribbles
Not a single soul was wiser
And organizing all our names
The Stars’ Alphabetizer

She brought a wealth of wisdom
Concise and entertaining
Insight and perspective
She had learned while out campaigning

Jay-Dub communicated
And we all can witness that
On the phone or in a window
My oh my, that girl could chat

She had a style and stature
Making friends along the way
From Breitbart to the Bushes
(Not to mention Brian May)

Considering an epitaph
We don’t think it would shock you
The one that’s most appropriate,
Of course, is “She
Will Rock You”

She fought the toughest battle
That anyone could face
And stood against its power
With bravery and grace

Accepting death as part of life
And thankful for the ride
She stepped across eternity
With Leslie by her side

Born and raised in Texas
The state Texans think is best
Beside her mom and daddy
Now her heart is laid to rest

But wherever Tribbles gather
Or the radio is played
We’ll call to mind her mem’ry and
Bluebonnets in the glade

We’ll sample Blue Bell Ice Cream
The kind with peachy bits
We’ll thank God that we knew her
And we’ll play Queen’s Greatest Hits

Patriot and Inspiration,
Deputy and Faithful Friend
To Our Father, who’s in heaven
May these words, your soul commend.
