When you grow up, oh you can be a mariner who sails the sea
Or you could be, if hard you try, a pilot who gets planes to fly
A spelunker who goes in caves, a barber who gives people shaves
A coroner who drives a hearse, a bureaucrat who makes things worse
Yes, you can race a racing car no matter what your pronouns are
But oh, the fortunes you can earn when you decide which books to burn

Yes, that’s a job you must aspire to; picking things we should set fire to
Which wrong opinions we should drown, which statues need our tearing down
What ways of living we should rout, which people we should cancel out.
What persons we allow to teach and who can give a Berkeley speech
So, show your cultural defiance. Don’t study math don’t study science
Philosophers aren’t very wise. Don’t bother with those old Greek guys
Pick the path with all the fun, enroll is Wokeness 101

And spend each working hour pensive judging what you find offensive
Then put a giant red line through it; its easy once you warm up to it
Oh, see the negative reaction!  You won’t believe the satisfaction
Now, for myself I had light use for stories penned by Dr. Seuss
His were the books I never relished; I thought his rhymes too unembellished
But even with things as they are, I think these folks have gone too far
And if this time we don’t resist, who knows who’s next up on their list????
