While academics worked behind
Their ivy-covered walls
A squad to overthrow them
Was recruited down the halls

As they pursued their studies
With enthusiastic rigor
The force for their demise
Was being trained with equal vigor

Teach the class, professor
But you’d better stay on topic
Or be sacked for your transgression
Even if it’s microscopic

They said, within their precincts
“Let a thousand flowers bloom”
But when the petals opened
They let locusts in the room

Whisper what you really think
And watch out for the snitches
They’ll put your life on trial
Like they did with Salem’s witches

Tapping into wisdom
With which they’ve been endowed
They’ll let you know what movies
And opinions are allowed

The end of their endeavor
Should be noted for its lameness
The goal of their diversity
Is monolithic sameness

When I was young the Left mocked those
With fundamental views
Don’t you think it odd that now
They’re standing in those shoes?

For those who failed to notice
Or this tyranny condemn
We lived with the conviction
That there’s more of us than them
But I can say from where I sit
(Just underneath this bus)
Unless we speak our minds
There’ll soon be more of them than us
