The VP picked her running mate
The only question’s now
How much of what Tim Walz believes
Will he soon disavow
What issues and convictions
He’s held for long duration
Are subject to a process of
Excessive moderation
It’s not like it’s uncommon
Yes, we’ve already seen it
So much of what the VP said
She now says, “I don’t mean it.”
The Democratic party
Is in a liberal thicket
Like Mondale picking Mondale
To balance out the ticket
But let’s for now give kudos
And credit where it’s due
She didn’t pick some moderate
In hopes of fooling you
Unlike the choice we often face
In each election year
The choice come this November
With be stark and crystal clear
Like when you’re picking counter tops
Granite or some wood thing
One’s not like the other
And I think that’s a good thing
Do we believe the Bill of Rights
Means freedom for the soul
Or do we want the government
In unabridged control
They have a path to victory
But I’m not certain how
When both of your two candidates
Are left of Chairman Mao
