What A Week

Some weeks are like my beat-up car

With topics by the dent-full

But seldom have I seen a week

That’s been so uneventful

A diary displayed the risks

Of document retention

But in the mainstream media

It barely got a mention

We tuned into the Senate

For the insight it would bring

I listened very closely

But I didn’t hear a thing

No one’s taking Benadryl

Or swallowing detergent

Congress has some bills to pass

But really nothing urgent

Legislative Journalists

(I have this on authority)

Can go on long vacations

With a GOP majority

The Left has an agenda

And they’ve begun to move it

So if you live in NYC

You have four weeks to prove it

I’ve searched the business markets

To the best of my ability

And found nothing of notice but

Serene predictability

I like to think the world’s arranged

To do a poet’s bidding

But there’s not much to write about

Not a thing, no kidding

Commission a poem from Joe

Tell him the story. He'll find the verse in it.
