(Last week, I engaged in a little good-natured mockery of AI.   This week?)

Just when you’re feeling cocky

And you have the whole thing licked

You click your heels together and

A hornet’s nest gets kicked

My life which was so beautiful

Has suddenly turned ugly

And all because of what I wrote

And read aloud so smugly

Yes, last week on the radio

I made fun of AI

Well, since that rhyme was broadcast

Things have gone a bit awry

My sprinkler system ran all night

And turned my lawn to fudge

I tried to start my Roomba

But the Roomba wouldn’t budge

Alexa talked from dusk to dawn

I come to you exhausted

And though I didn’t touch a thing

My Frigidaire defrosted

I turned for entertainment

To the AM in my car

Every button that I pushed

Was set to NPR

My iPhone’s now a paperweight

And that, friends, is a fact

To add to the indignity

My microwave got hacked

Now, why are these things happening

Where is the solution

Could it be coincidence

Or is it retribution

Before the virus spreads to

Both my cars and trash compactors

I , for one, and welcoming

Our Ai benefactors
