We all live in a universe

Where poison is undrinkable

Is there one, I wonder,

Where abortion is unthinkable

Where no laws are required

Where all love is reliable

No need to frame a standard

To decide when life is viable

Where everyone’s protected

And common sense is used

Where no one is abusive

And no one is abused

We’re told we can IMAGINE

A world of splendid bliss

Let’s do more than imagining

A better world than this

For years we have accepted

The circumstance we got

Shouldn’t we strive for finer

And daily say, “Why not?”

Believe what you believe in

And let guilt be your guide

When it comes to Judgement Day

There’s no place you can hide

Turning a blind eye, I fear

Will only lead to blindness

Respond to their reproaches

With simple acts of kindness

Find a life that you can save

Do work to ease their way

If you feel you have no voice

Remember you can pray

Some folks say this ruling is

The best we’re gonna get

There is no perfect planet

And to them I say, “Not yet.”
