Regard the ant and termite
The coral and the bee
All of these are prosperous
But none of them are free

They feel the storm, they flee the rain
They tremble at the thunder
They see the flash of lightning
But never do they wonder

And yet, they’re so well organized
Their royalty, prolific
Our governments, incompetent
And not at all terrific

They build a quick cathedral
While ours take generations
They rise by only instinct
Ours, by regulations

Today, there are some intellects
Studying our messes
Who come to the conclusion
We should learn from their successes

Work with dedication
Find you place among the masses
Do what you were born to do
And don’t take AP classes

This social engineering
Will surely work out fine
As long as no one in the group
Decides to leave the line

Imagine a world
I’m glad I can’t
If there were one
Ambitious ant
