Boomers, Ho!

I went to buy some golf clubs

But found it so bizarre

The price to buy a driver

Was the same as my first car

And they say in The Atlantic

I read it for my sins

For seniors—Party Over

The payback now begins

They say my generation

Has too much of the dough

And it’s high time we say good-bye

And let the money go

They told us to stop smoking

And cut back on caffeine

And now they think we live too long

I think that’s rather mean

They’re searching for a scapegoat

And they’re pointing right at us

Arise my fellow Boomers

It’s time to make a fuss

Sure, governments are drowned in debt

So deep it isn't funny

And bureaucrats who run the show are

Are looking for our money

And though I still have bills to pay

Each month I make them barely

The generation now in charge

Says I've got mine unfairly

They claim another crisis

And want a way to end it

I ought to take my money now

And go ahead and spend it

I’ll blow my unfair fortune

And see what it will get me

And going out, I’ll live it up

That’s if my wife will let me

Commission a poem from Joe

Tell him the story. He'll find the verse in it.
