The Networks are in trouble
With their ratings in the tank
But I know of a program
That’s like money in the bank
It’s got intrigue, it’s got drama
It’s got passion and suspense
It’s full of big surprises
And the atmosphere’s intense
It may be a little talky
With two nouns for every verb
But the hero is compelling
And the dialogue’s superb
There’s a lot of human interest
(Which could use a big revival)
There’s tragedy and humor
Illness and survival
The pilot got a number
But I think there’s room for growth
With its geniuses and villains
Who are sometimes sort of both
It’s a plan that’s almost foolproof
Far beyond the network’s botching
If they run it every Tuesday
I guarantee folks will be watching
It’s easy to produce
And the spots will all be saleable
And since he never sleeps
I think the President’s available
Whatever network gets him
Will enjoy a ratings bump
