I’m puzzled by the LA Times

I’m puzzled by The Post

I’ve never seen, since Halloween

Such giving up the ghost

The Left alleges cruelty

In their bill of divorcement

All because the publishers

Withheld the big endorsement

The Left says they were pressured

Their actions spell our doom

But if some pressure was exerted

I must ask, “By whom?”

By all those darn Republicans

Who daily turn the pages

To read for sheer enjoyment

Stories of their own outrages?

By advertisers, one and all

(Just Fascists on the sly)

Who hid for years from scrutiny

Embracing D.E.I

By some convicted felon

Both sinned against and sinning

Who they believe with all their hearts

Has zero chance of winning

Something doesn’t pass the test

It must be more than that

I’ve got some Fall congestion

But I still can smell a rat

Perhaps, my friends, this new resolve

Was just a way to fake it

Instead of just reporting news

They found a way to make it

They’ll say they found their conscience

That would be quite a caper–

Wake up Monday morning
