The siren song of politics
Sings like a serenade
But some can’t shake the feeling
That somehow they’re being played
Saying Clinton was unbeatable
No matter who we’d choose
So the GOP let Trump prevail
So that they wouldn’t lose
Folks I used to trust
Have said the fix was always in
When Trump announced for office
He didn’t really want to win
Candidates and media
Are acting out their roles
So why am I still sensing
A disturbance in the polls
If Hillary’s the eagle
And if Trump is just the mouse
Why is no one focused on
The Senate and the House
Is it really likely
As the week to week unwinds
That so many folks have difficulties
Making up their minds
Long before the next debate
Or last assault is mounted
Votes are being cast
And votes are being counted
It seems to me apparent
As election day gets nearer
No matter what your politics
A choice was never clearer
The walls around me shudder
Like I’m in a house, divided
And you really must be uninformed
If you’re still undecided
